Forbes names Brightstar as one of “America’s Best Midsize Employers” for 2019
Forbes Media has named Brightstar among its 2019 list of “America’s Best Midsize Employers,” ranking 146 out of 500.
To determine the list, Forbes partnered with Statista, a global market research firm, to anonymously survey more than 50,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 1,000 people in their U.S. locations. Respondents were asked a series of 35 questions about work related topics, including working conditions, salary, potential for development and company image as well as how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others. The final list ranks the scores of the top 500 midsize employers.
“This is a real honor. It’s not surprising given the collaborative spirit of everyone here,” said Rod Millar, Brightstar’s CEO. “We know the US job market is competitive right now and we’re pleased that we’re attracting and retaining the best talent.”
Founded in 1997 by Marcelo Claure, Brightstar started as a small regional distributor of mobile phones. Today, with a presence in nearly 50 countries across five continents, it is a worldwide leader in mobile device lifecycle management services. In 2014, Brightstar was acquired by SoftBank Group and is currently its largest wholly owned subsidiary. Most recently, Claure returned to Brightstar to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Brightstar’s global operations are based in Miami, Florida supported by various satellite offices across the US.
