Challenge
SETON Healthcare Network had several major corporate initiatives that it was unable to adequately staff for in order to meet mandated deadlines and implementation requirements.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Overview
The SETON Healthcare Network is a not-for-profit healthcare organization that provides service at 20 locations in Central Texas. In 2001, the network provided $103.9 million in charity and community benefits. SETON is a member of Ascension Health, the largest not-for-profit health network with more than 87,000 employees at facilities in 15 states and the District of Columbia. SETON needed a collaborative partner to provide the necessary technical resources for its major initiatives.
Solution
BrightStar has been providing software implementation services for SETON since 1999. Recently, BrightStar's PeopleSoft Practice provided project leadership to SETON in upgrading its Human Resources and Payroll system to PeopleSoft's latest internet-based version. BrightStar also provided functional, and technical expertise on the project.
The PeopleSoft upgrade was immediately followed by an upgrade of SETON's KRONOS time tracking system. BrightStar was selected to lead a team of SETON employees to upgrade their system to KRONOS' latest Workforce Central version, a web-based application.
Most Recently, SETON selected BrightStar to provide project management and technical expertise for the implementation of a Materials Management solution. The Materials Management solution selected by SETON included an implementation of Lawson ERP software and Omni Buyer's eProcurement software. The Materials Management project is targeted to go-live February 2003.
Results
SETON's PeopleSoft Human Resources and Payroll system project was successfully completed early in 2002, ahead of schedule and under budget. SETON's KRONOS time tracking system, Workforce Central, went live in April 2002 and has been considered a major business success by SETON.
